A Bit About Wintercamping
I have had the pleasure to go on an annual Winter camping trip in and around Algonquin Park, Ontario, Canada for each of the past 15 years. I knew next to nothing in the first years, but I have learned a lot since then. If Winter camping is something that interests you, I recommend that you do a lot of reading and consider a guided trip. When things are good, they are really good, but when that are bad, they can be really bad. It is always a good idea to tag along with someone who has some experience. You will notice that my kids show up in some of these photos. I have taken kids into the camp for the day and, on one occasion, for a night in the quinzee hut, but always when the weather has cooperated and several experienced adults were with us.
